Autorun is a feature of the Microsoft Windows operating system. The Autorun feature detects when a portable media such as CD, DVD, USB is inserted into the drive and runs an application based on the contents of the Autorun.inf file located on the media.

Important
Microsoft will be blocking the autorun function for USB sticks (USB flash drive) for future Windows updates. This is because USB sticks have been used to infect computers with viruses.
